Betty, if you have a smartTV with built-in apps like Hulu, SlingTV, YouTube TV or Fubo, then you can get started right away by signing up through any one of those apps. If not, then I would recommend purchasing a Roku Stick and plugging into the HDMI port on your TV.

Great question Mark! I did a little digging and found this article showing you exactly how to record over-the-air antenna stream: https://bgr.com/2017/12/08/dvr-for-ota-tv-cord-cutting/

Sadly, it seems like none of them offer everything. But the bright side is the money savings, as you pointed out. Just think what you could do with the extra money, like pay off debt, invest, do home upgrades, etc. Good for you that you cut the cord!

I purchased a $25 indoor antenna thru Amazon. Where I live, I cannot get Dish, DirecTV, or even Cell Service. I couldn’t wait to rid myself of TWC! So, I’m shocked that with this antenna I’m receiving 15 channels. Of the 15, two are for kids and eight are basically old, brought-back series I once loved but no longer hold my attention or interest. So, I’m left with 5 channels that are sorta-kinda decent. It’s not great, but it’s okay. Considering that I am saving $732 a year, I can live with that and thank God I still have the internet so I can watch live news and probably get some other live shows that I’ll miss watching on TV. I will see how that goes. I just WISH I had one decent World News channel, like CNN, MSN or Fox, and one decent renovations channel as well as one forensics/true crime channel. Then my TV watching world would be perfect!

It is best to check the specifications with any antenna you are considering purchasing. Not all of them require internet, although it’s possible some may. What you will get is whatever stations you can pick up in your area, so it may depend somewhat on where you live. You could get Hulu too, but that is separate from using an antenna.

You still need an internet connection in conjunction with an HDTV antenna, and then you pick the services you want. Like, I have both Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts, so I could get a Hulu account for other favorite channel watching, correct?

Netflix might be increasing the number of viewers it has, but I bet, in truth, some of the others are as well. People are getting fed up with cable TV prices and choosing to watch what they want other ways. I hope you have found your preferred way to watch too so you can cut the cord!

The Netflix are increasing their number of subscribers globally.
