Nice! That’s definitely cheaper than cable!

Most shows are available online via the channel’s website, or on a platform like Netflix or Hulu so you don’t have to be tied to your cable subscription or DVR. 🙂

Okay, we just cut cable…late to the game. We got sling and we have netflix. We also got an antenna. I don’t watch a lot of TV…I really only watch one or two shows…but I’m worried I won’t be able to without DVR. I mean, it’s not often that I get to sit down and watch a show when it’s actually on!

That’s true! You need to take that into consideration. But if you already pay for internet (as many do these days), you’d still be saving money vs paying for internet AND TV.

Yes, not having a DVR can be hard sometimes, but so much of the shows we watch are online anyway so we can watch them anytime.

The flexibility is what we like about them too!

I was lucky that the home has a large outdoor antenna. I get about 90-100 channels, some Spanish channels which I don’t watch, but a lot of other channels including all the local ones. I also have Netflix that I watch. I won’t go back to cable since the prices are so high. I do miss the DVR and The Hallmark and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channels. But I know I’m saving a ton of money that I don’t have or need to spend.

Instead of cable, we supplement with streaming platforms like Netflix and YouTube.

The best part about these paid streaming services is that you pay by the month and can cancel at any time. No contracts or introductory gimmicks that require you to call in every year to request that the cable or satellite companies don’t raise your rates.
